Steve, a Francophile student, shares his film review of "Délicieux" (2021) here
The story takes place just before the French Revolution, around 1780… The main character is a chef who works for a duke but gets fired because some of the guests find his food unpalatable. 
In fact, the chef loves to innovate and create new dishes. Since he’s out of work, he returns to his parents’ home—they used to run a coaching inn—but discovers that they’ve passed away. Eventually, a woman comes to his house and asks him to train as a cook. 
They open a restaurant together, but at that time it was a groundbreaking idea because such a concept didn’t exist… 
One of the film’s themes is equality for all when it comes to fine dining—not just for the nobility… 
They’ll face pressure from the Duke to close their restaurant and return to the castle… Will they resist? You’ll find out by watching the film. 
I highly recommend watching this film because the performances by the actors—especially Grégory Gadebois and Isabelle Carré—are extraordinary. 
It’s a must-see for its cuisine, French history, and magnificent provincial setting. 
I watched this film in its original French version with English subtitles. Sometimes there are words or phrases you don’t understand, but that’s okay because you can still grasp 
the meaning of the story. It’s a wonderful experience to hear the music of the French language and immerse yourself in the French way of life.
