When learning a language, there’s one essential exercise: listening to native speakers in real-life conversations.

Let me introduce you to Matthieu, who hosts the podcast: "BOOST TON FRANCAIS"

When a Passion for Caring Becomes a Passion for Teaching!

Hello! My name is Matthieu. After 15 years as a nurse, I traded in my scrubs to become a French as a Foreign Language (FLE) teacher—a career I’m passionate about.
What sparked this change? 2020…I had lost my sense of purpose in my work; human connections had always been the driving force behind my profession, and at that point, I no longer felt at home there. My partner and I decided to teach our children and homeschool them. That’s when I discovered the joy of teaching and the pleasure of sharing knowledge. The desire to extend this teaching to others then became obvious.
Since a love of literature has always been with me—through high school, then two years at the University studying modern literature, as well as at the drama conservatory—it was clear: I would become a French teacher.
In 2023, I decided to pursue further training at the University of Grenoble, and I earned my University Diploma in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) in May 2024.

For the past three years, I have been teaching online, and I have specialized in conversation and French culture, because that is where my students enjoy themselves the most and make impressive progress. I use a wide variety of digital tools to make learning easy, interactive, and fun. For me, teaching is above all about sharing a passion and seeing each student thrive as they discover the language.

He was kind enough to ask me about our teaching methods and what guides our language immersion process.

"Learning by living with your teacher? Does it really make all the difference?

In this episode, you’ll discover a unique learning method: immersive language stays. Pascal, a French as a Foreign Language (FLE) teacher for over 30 years, shares his journey, his teaching choices, and what immersion brings to learners. We discuss enjoyment and motivation, neuroscience, dopamine, and brain plasticity, as well as gastronomy, pronunciation, and human connections. A journey into the world of FLE where learning is experienced, savored, and shared. A warm and inspiring conversation, rich in anecdotes, real-life vocabulary, and tips for learning French in a different way.
